da bet vitoria: Over the last couple of weeks, Nottingham Forest have been dragged back into the relegation picture, after only managing to win one of their last six Premier League matches.

da betsul: Sean Dyche’s side have massively struggled for goals as of late, which has no doubt pushed them even closer to the relegation zone and widened the gap to those above them.

The Reds have scored just 21 goals in England’s top-flight to date, with only bottom-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers registering fewer after the first 22 outings.

During the last six matches, the side have only netted two open-play goals, with Morgan Gibbs-White’s chip against Aston Villa the latest – but such a strike was three weeks ago.

As a result, the hierarchy have been tasked with adding goals to the first-team squad, subsequently making a number of moves in the transfer market in recent days.

Nottingham Forest working on a new to land a new talisman

As part of the recent hunt in the transfer window, Forest have secured the signature of Napoli striker Lorenzo Lucca on loan until the end of the 2025/26 campaign.

The move for the Italian includes an option to buy for £34m in the summer window, with Dyche’s side covering his wages and paying £1m to land his signature.

It’s unclear whether the 6’7 striker has been signed in time to feature against Brentford tomorrow afternoon, but the addition will hopefully plug some of the issues that have arisen in recent weeks.

However, despite the move to land the 25-year-old, the recruitment team are continuing their efforts to identify added reinforcements, as seen by the move to land Brandon Thomas-Asante.

According to Sports Boom, the Reds are currently working on a deal to land the Coventry City star, who has netted ten goals in 21 appearances across all competitions this season.

The report also mentions that relegation rivals West Ham United are also firmly in the race to land the 27-year-old before the window slams shut on February 2nd.

At present, Frank Lampard’s side don’t want to sell their joint-top scorer, but they could be forced to offload him should a ‘mouth-watering offer’ be presented in the coming days.

Why Thomas-Asante would end Wood’s stay at Forest

The 2024/25 campaign will live long in the memories of all Forest fans, after the club secured a return to European football for the first time in three decades.

Chris Wood undoubtedly played a pivotal role in such a success, as seen by his impressive tally of 20 Premier League goals – subsequently being one of just five players to achieve such a feat last season.

The New Zealand international cemented himself as one of the side’s most important players, which even led to the 34-year-old penning a new two-year contract at the City Ground.

However, he’s been unable to replicate such success this time around, subsequently making just eight league appearances – with a knee injury plaguing his progress.

It’s been reported in the last couple of days that his recent surgery could rule him out for the remainder of the season, which could fuel the move to land Thomas-Asante.

There’s no doubt there is a huge jump between the Premier League and the Championship, but the Coventry star has demonstrated numerous qualities that could make him a hit in the East Midlands.

The Ghanaian star, who’s been dubbed “spectacular” by the Second Tier Podcast, has registered a 41% shot on target rate, whilst scoring 0.7 goals per 90 this season.

Such numbers showcase his incredible nous for goals, with the latter of his aforementioned figures ranking him in the top 5% of all players in England’s second tier.

However, away from his goalscoring ability, Thomas-Asante has also been impressive in other areas, as seen by his tally of 48% dribbles completed in the Championship.

The 27-year-old has also been in 1.6 aerials and registered 4.9 touches in the opposition box per 90 – which could hand the Reds the needed poacher-type forward they lack.

It’s currently unclear how much a deal for the Coventry star would cost this month, but it’s evident from the stats produced that he would be a superb addition.

With West Ham also in the race for his signature at present, it’s crucial that the hierarchy work tirelessly to prevent missing out on him to a divisional rival in the hunt for survival.

However, any move could well spell the end for Wood, with it unclear how much of an impact the 34-year-old could provide upon his eventual return from injury.
